Fly Mobile to launch four low-cost Android phones in India soon

Fly Mobile, a U.K. based cellphone manufacturer, has announced it will be bringing four new low-cost Android phones into the Indian market, with prices ranging from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 10,000. All the phones will have 5MP cameras, and, sport Android 2.2 Froyo onboard.

The announcement was made by Fly Mobile’s CEO, Prem Kumar, who also gave a tentative launch date – the third quarter of the current financial year. He added that Fly Mobile was looking to offer customers an India-specific Android app store, to be launched by the third quarter again. “Fly Mobile is strengthening its app ecosystem and is in the process of launching its app store, which will be India centric. Consumers will be able to experience our store by the third quarter this year.”

The company will also be expanding its service network in India, increasing the number of service centres from 384 to 450 in the near future.
